Our non-profit support group for families with multiple birth children is based
in Kane County, Illinois and serves
St. Charles,
Geneva,
Batavia,
Aurora,
and several other nearby communities.
We are a member of the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs and the Illinois Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs.
Our main goal is to provide support, education, and camaraderie for families with twins, triplets, or more. We have monthly meetings where we either have topics for discussion or educational speakers. We also have many social events throughout the year, from bowling to movies, holiday parties to picnics. We also plan activities for parents and children, such as playgroups, park get-togethers, zoo trips, and pool parties. We have special interests groups such as Stork Club, and Mothers of Toddlers that meet outside of the regular monthly meetings. Our newsletter, Full House, updates members on current activities, member news, for sale and wanted postings, and other pertinent and interesting information.
Membership in TCMOTTC gives you the opportunity to make friends who understand the special logistics of life with multiples; friends who can offer practical advice on raising and caring for your multiples; friends who can help you narrow the search for a good preschool, doctor, babysitter, or stroller; friends who can listen sympathetically when you just need to cry because you don't think you can take one more sleepless night or wipe one more runny nose; friends who understand that two toddlers takes not twice, but four times the effort; friends who know the joy of listening to their three-year-olds act out stories; friends who remember how difficult and miraculous a multiple pregnancy can be; friends who have known the incredible sensation of holding two or three sleeping babies at the same time.
Our biggest event is our semi-annual resale, held in March and September at Mooseheart, Illinois. At these resales, members can sell their used children's clothing, toys, and equipment. The club retains a percentage of the profit to support our various philanthropies and activities. The sellers receive the rest (a substantially larger percentage than is available through traditional resale and consignment shops). Since we are first and foremost a support organization, we donate a portion of the money raised from the resales to various charities. We also support our own local members with meals, advice, and occasional financial assistance.
Please join us at one of our general meetings, held on the first Monday of each month (excluding January and June) at the Geneva Community High School at 416 McKinley Avenue in Geneva starting at 7:00pm. In May, the monthly meeting is our banquet and in December, it is the Holiday party. Both are still held the first Monday of the month. In July, the family picnic replaces the monthly meeting and is usually held on a different day of the month.
